About the PRIA

We are a great community in Pasadena, MD. With the help of our neighbors we are trying to bring people together. Not only to promote our neighborhood but to help Pasadena stay a great place to live and work.

The PRIA mission is 3-fold:

 Advocacy 

We are the voice of the people of the Poplar Ridge community. We keep our members informed of development projects or legislation which may impact our quality of life. We are the community’s voice at such forums as the Anne Arundel County Police Community Relations Council. We also engage with county agencies to help solve community problems and resolve complaints. 

Organization 

The PRIA works to develop a strong sense of community and camaraderie among the residents of Poplar Ridge. The better we know one another, the easier it is to communicate and come together in times of need. Throughout the year, PRIA organizes meetings, events, and activities to keep our members engaged, informed, and entertained. Keep an eye out for emails, messages, and flyers announcing events such as the annual holiday party, chili cook offs, boater safety classes, and guest speakers. 

Stewardship 

In 1953, J. Albert Corey and Mary Louise Corey gifted the property we now know as the Poplar Ridge community hall to the PRIA. As an organization, we are beholden to care for and manage this resource. The PRIA coordinates routine maintenance of the physical facility and landscape, manages facility rentals, and invests in a variety of improvement projects. 

We support cultural, educational and social community activities and any type of community-building initiative. If you have an idea, please don't hesitate to send us an email.

Be a resource for other members of the community. Combined, we have a wealth of local knowledge. Knowledge and experience with schools, regulations, construction, health care and other services.
